large caliber handguns

Large Caliber Handguns - Generally, in the shooting world, there are two kinds of people. The first is someone who likes big pistols or hunting or just long range guns. The second is someone who sees zero purpose in carrying a large pistol. Big pistols can be intimidating, but when people shoot them, they usually see the appeal in it.

Whether you shoot for fun, a good pistol is one of the best ways to put a smile on your face. Not everyone wants to shoot a big pistol, and that's okay. They are one of the loudest gunshots ever recorded and are often conversation starters. I met some great guys at the range shooting a big pistol. Naturally, they walked over, wanting to chat, pat.

This is where most shooters want to stop and check, since it's not a resident sight at range. Big guns naturally make people smile. They are very powerful and seem to have a lot of recoil when the bullets are fired. People love shooting these guns and it feels like a pageant. Shooting pistols is a completely different game than shooting pistols, which might be a nice change from the usual long-distance travel.

Gun Buybacks Are Popular. But Are They Effective?

Shooting big guns like the Smith & Wesson 500 and Desert Eagle 50 AE is an amazing experience. Shooting them is fun, but not so much fun paying for them when the ammo bill comes up. Oftentimes, ammunition is too expensive to buy a larger pistol in a store or online. If you're not home reloading when you're shooting a big pistol, it can get expensive very quickly. The high amount of recoil can also be an issue for some.

I had a family friend try it with a Smith & Wesson 500 magnum to see how it felt. She shot him twice, disbelieving how much recoil the pistol had, and later said she wounded her hand afterwards. We all went home and got a call the next day. This is my friend, and apparently, she broke her wrist while rewinding. I was terrified, but keep that in mind when shooting with a big pistol.

Large pistols are great for hunting or occasional use. I usually go to the range with a pistol, but every once in a while I take it out to enjoy the shot and enjoy the overall experience. They're expensive and heavy to shoot, but the overall experience is different, and I love them. I'd probably look at a Smith and Wesson 460 or something like that, since it can shoot other calibers for less. I have several different big pistols and I wouldn't sell them for any price. They can be expensive and heavy to carry, but they are a unique shooting experience. They always put a smile on my face and I wouldn't change that for the world. Let me know in the comments below if you guys have a favorite big caliber pistol. Stay safe there.
